Baby alpaca represents the pinnacle of alpaca.
The alpaca is a small llama, descended from the mythical vicuña, which lives mainly in Peru, at altitudes of up to 4,500 m.
As with the goat that produces cashmere, extreme cold leads the alpaca to protect itself with a fine fleece whose softness is close to that of cashmere. This makes it possible to craft wonderfully soft knitwear, sometimes slightly fluffy, and currently at a more accessible price than cashmere.
Baby alpaca refers to the selection of the finest fibres from the alpaca.
