Women's crew-neck cashmere jumper

Women’s crew-neck cashmere jumpers for every season

At Mahogany, our women’s crew-neck cashmere jumpers come in different weights to suit the seasons and your preferences. From fine, lightweight knits ideal for the transitional seasons to thicker, cosier styles for winter, each jumper offers a different feel depending on how it is knitted.

Explore our collection of crew-neck jumpers, available in a variety of cuts, colours and finishes to find the style that suits you.

Different styles of women’s crew-neck cashmere jumpers

The women’s crew-neck cashmere jumper comes in a range of cuts and finishes. Fitted styles follow the contours of the body and slip easily under a jacket or coat. Straight cuts offer more room, while oversized cashmere jumpers have a looser drape, ideal for a relaxed outfit.

The knit also offers different ways to vary your style. A fine-knit jumper has a subtle, lightweight appearance, while chunky knits and cable-knit styles add texture. Ribbed finishes at the cuffs, neckline and hem also contribute to the garment’s overall look.

Long sleeves, short sleeves or cropped cuts: each style creates a different silhouette while retaining the simplicity of the crew neck.

Different weights of crew-neck cashmere jumpers

The number of plies and the knit construction play an important part in the thickness, weight and drape of a women’s cashmere jumper.

2-ply cashmere: light and supple, it is particularly suited to the transitional seasons and slips easily under a jacket. It is also a good choice for layering.

4-ply cashmere : denser, it offers more volume and warmth while retaining cashmere’s characteristic softness.

6-ply cashmere and above: with a generally thicker knit, these styles are especially welcome when temperatures fall.

At Mahogany, you will also find loosely knitted cashmere jumpers. This knitting technique creates a more open knit with a fluid drape and a light feel.

The number of plies alone does not, however, determine a jumper’s thickness. The gauge and knit construction matter too. It is a detail worth considering when choosing your style.

A wide range of colours for your crew-neck jumper

A women’s crew-neck cashmere jumper is also a choice of colour. Classic shades such as black, grey, beige and navy are easy to pair with other pieces in your wardrobe. They make an effortless foundation for everyday dressing.

To add more colour to an outfit, shades of red, pink, green or blue offer plenty of possibilities. A colourful jumper can, for example, brighten up dark trousers or complement dark-wash jeans.

At Mahogany, we place great importance on our choice of colours, offering a palette that lets every woman find a shade that suits her.

How to wear a women’s crew-neck cashmere jumper

Easy to style, the crew-neck cashmere jumper suits many occasions. With straight-leg jeans and trainers, it makes for a simple everyday outfit. Paired with tailored trousers and loafers, it takes on a smarter look.

The crew neck also lends itself to layering. Wear it over a shirt with the collar and cuffs showing, or under a blazer for a more structured silhouette.

To play with proportions, pair a loose-fitting jumper with slim-cut trousers, or choose a close-fitting style with a long skirt. Just a few different pairings can give the same piece a new look.

How to care for your crew-neck cashmere jumper

A crew-neck cashmere jumper needs just a few simple steps to retain its appearance and softness through repeated washes. And contrary to what you might think, cashmere responds well to water, provided you take a few precautions.

For washing, choose a wool cycle at no more than 30°C, with a spin speed of no more than 600 rpm. Use a small amount of detergent suitable for wool and avoid fabric conditioner, which can affect the fibres.

Once washed, your cashmere jumper should be dried flat, away from radiators and direct sunlight. To store it, fold it rather than hanging it on a hanger to help preserve its shape.

We favour jumpers that are a pleasure to wear season after season. With proper care, cashmere retains its softness and can remain part of your wardrobe for many years.
