Our singularity

Cashmere is a rare, demanding material, deeply connected to time and craft.

Mahogany is a speciality, a passion, an expertise built over time. We chose to approach it differently: favouring authenticity over display, craftsmanship over mass production, softness — in the material as in the experience — over the fleeting.

Our singularity lies in a set of coherent choices that shape every piece, from the thread to the experience.

A slow fashion approach

From the very beginning, we have produced only in very small runs and never discard any piece, thus avoiding waste — one of the greatest plagues of the fashion industry.

We are among the rare brands in the world capable of producing a piece specially for you within a matter of weeks when it is not in stock, all in order to avoid overproduction.

We work exclusively with natural fibres — principally the underfleece of animals from cold climates, which grows in winter and can be harvested in spring.

Artisan craftsmanship

Everything begins with expertise.

Nepal is one of the historic cradles of cashmere craftsmanship, where the art of knitting has been passed down through generations.

It is here that we chose to make our pieces. Our collaboration began in 2004, with Santosh and his family, who headed a workshop of around ten people at the time.

Since then, we have grown together. Today, that workshop has become a much larger structure, bringing together nearly 250 artisans. Over the years, a relationship of trust has been built — founded on exacting standards, loyalty, and a truly collaborative way of working.

The workshop has developed alongside us, adapting to our standards while preserving a deeply rooted expertise.

Expertise combined with an artisanal approach

We have the expertise to create pieces in rare and exceptional fibres.

Beyond cashmere, we work with baby alpaca, yak and camel, as well as vicuña — arguably the most precious fibre in existence, used by very few brands worldwide. We offer hand-finished products crafted with meticulous attention to detail, in the continuity of an age-old tradition.

Unrivalled flexibility

From the finest knit to the most substantial creations — up to 56-ply — each piece is developed with precision, in faithful respect of time-honoured gestures and techniques.
Certain pieces, among the most complex, are still made entirely by hand, requiring considerable time and particular care.

A method of production that places accuracy above speed, and craftsmanship above mass production.

A varied selection

We offer a range of products spanning from entry-level 2-ply cashmere to the most extraordinary creations — up to 56-ply on certain exceptional pieces you will find nowhere else.

Made-to-order & bespoke production

We are among the rare houses to offer made-to-order production.

When a size or colour is no longer available, we can restart production specially for you within a matter of weeks.
We also offer a bespoke service, allowing certain dimensions to be adjusted to better suit each individual's build.
An approach made possible by our mastery of production and our close relationship with the workshop.
Every request is handled with care, through direct and personalised communication by email or telephone.
A straightforward way of working, rooted in closeness and continuity over time.

The Mahogany colour palette

Colour is at the heart of our work.

Over time, we have developed an extensive palette, composed of deep, subtle and enduring shades, reaching up to around fifty colours.

Each colour is conceived to reveal the material, capture light with precision and stand the test of time. A meticulous process, made possible by the quality of the selected fibres — particularly the lighter ones, which allow for a more faithful and luminous dye.

We also offer a range of 100% natural, undyed shades, from natural ecru to natural brown, which express cashmere in its most authentic form.

An approach to colour that is both demanding and sensitive, where every shade finds its place.

Repair

Cashmere is made to last.

We offer a repair service, available from 30 euros, to extend the life of your pieces — whether it is a snag, a hole or natural wear.

Repair rather than replace. A matter of course, for a material like cashmere.

The luxury experience at a fair price

As a small, human-scale company with no physical shop, Mahogany is able to keep its margins low and guarantee fair, accessible prices. The cost of our products goes almost exclusively towards materials, manufacturing and design.

Mahogany is a house of material, working with exacting standards — and with heart.
