A slow fashion approach
From the beginning, we have produced only in very small batches and never discarded a single item, avoiding the waste that is one of fashion’s greatest problems.
We are among the few brands in the world able to make a piece especially for you within a few weeks when it is out of stock, helping us avoid overproduction.
We work exclusively with natural fibres, primarily the soft undercoats of animals from cold climates, which grow in winter and can be collected in spring.
Artisanal craftsmanship
It all begins with craftsmanship.
Nepal is one of the historic homes of cashmere craftsmanship, where knitting skills have been passed down through generations.
That is where we chose to make our pieces. Our partnership began in 2004 with Santosh and his family, who then ran a workshop of around ten people.
Since then, we have grown together. Today, the workshop has become a larger operation, bringing together nearly 250 artisans. Over the years, we have built a relationship of trust — founded on high standards, loyalty and working hand in hand.
The workshop has grown alongside us, adapting to our standards while preserving its deeply rooted craftsmanship.
Expertise paired with an artisanal approach
We have the ability to create pieces from rare and exceptional fibres.
Alongside cashmere, we work with baby alpaca, yak and camel, as well as vicuña — perhaps the most precious fibre of all, used by very few brands worldwide. We offer carefully finished pieces that are completed by hand, continuing an ancestral tradition of craftsmanship.
Unrivalled flexibility
From the finest knits to the thickest creations — up to 56-ply — every piece is developed with precision and respect for traditional skills and techniques.
Some of the most complex pieces are still made by hand, requiring time and particular care.
An approach to making that favours precision over speed and craftsmanship over mass production.

Our range extends from entry-level two-ply cashmere to extraordinary creations in up to 56-ply yarn on certain exceptional designs you will not find anywhere else.
Made to order & made to measure
We are one of the few houses to offer made-to-order pieces.
When a size or colour is no longer available, we can restart production especially for you within a few weeks.
We also offer a made-to-measure service, allowing certain dimensions to be adjusted for a better fit.
This approach is possible thanks to our command of production and our close relationship with the workshop.

The Mahogany colour palette
Colour is at the heart of what we do.
Over time, we have developed an extensive palette of deep, subtle and enduring shades, with as many as fifty colours.
Each colour is designed to bring out the beauty of the fibre, catch the light beautifully and stand the test of time. This precise work is made possible by the quality of the fibres we select, particularly the palest ones, which allow for truer, more luminous dyeing.
We also offer a range of 100% natural, undyed shades, from natural ecru to natural brown, expressing cashmere in its most authentic form.

Repairs
Cashmere is made to last.
We offer a repair service starting from 30 euros to extend the life of your pieces — whether they have a snag, a hole or signs of natural wear.

The luxury experience at a fair price
As a small, independent business without physical shops, Mahogany can keep its retail margins lower and offer a fair, affordable price. Almost all of the price of each piece goes towards materials, manufacturing and design.
