The TAO captivates with the purity of its lines and the softness of its knit. Its straight cut offers a natural, comfortable fit, while the 1 × 1 ribbed cuffs and hem, 7 cm, harmoniously define the silhouette.

Its fine 2-ply cashmere knit allows it to be worn directly against the skin, over a T-shirt or beneath a shirt. Easy to pair, it complements naturally a pair of jeans or chinos for a relaxed silhouette, or smarter trousers for an elegant and contemporary look.

The craftsmanship

Knitted in 2-ply, the cashmere reveals a fine, supple and particularly soft knit, ideal for a piece designed for everyday wear. This weight offers a natural balance of lightness, comfort and warmth.

The crew neck is crafted with precision to ensure a clean, even neckline. The 1 × 1 ribbed cuffs and hem, 7 cm, provide hold and structure whilst preserving the natural suppleness of the knit.

The First collection

The TAO belongs to our First collection, a selection of styles crafted in limited runs from surplus new cashmere yarns, carefully sourced from specialist Nepalese spinning mills.

Since 2005, we have worked with our partners in Nepal, a country renowned for its ancestral expertise in working with cashmere and precious fibres.

We therefore purchase very small quantities of yarn, too limited for manufacturers working at industrial scale, yet perfectly suited to our expertise in hand craftsmanship and small-batch production.

These materials are transformed in our workshop in Nepal, where every piece is handcrafted, to the same standards of construction, finishing and quality control as the rest of our collections.

This approach allows us to give new life to existing yarns that might otherwise have gone unused, whilst offering cashmere creations at particularly considered prices.

This is what we at Mahogany call premium recycling: giving a new purpose to new materials already available, by transforming them by hand into exclusive creations produced in small quantities.
