The warmth of an exceptional cashmere
Conceived as an essential of the winter wardrobe, the EDGAR PREMIUM 4 FILS combines the understated quality of a timeless classic with the richness of an exceptional material.
Its 4-ply knit brings greater density and warmth while retaining the suppleness and remarkable feel of Premium cashmere. Its straight cut ensures a natural and comfortable fit, while its roll neck elegantly wraps the neck and provides natural protection against the cold.
The 6 cm 1 × 1 rib at the cuffs and hem harmoniously structures the silhouette and ensures an excellent fit. Easy to style, the EDGAR PREMIUM 4 FILS pairs just as well with wool trousers for a refined look as with jeans for a more relaxed style.
The craftsmanship
With the Premium collection, we offer a quality of cashmere intended for connoisseurs of the finest and most precious fibres.
The selected fibre has an exceptional fineness of 13 to 14 microns, compared with approximately 15.5 microns for a high-quality cashmere and 16.5 to 17 microns for a more standard quality. Sourced from the first combing of young goats, this particularly fine down offers a touch of remarkable softness and delicacy.
This quality of fibre is particularly rare. A young goat yields only around 30 grams of this precious down, compared with 100 to 200 grams for an adult goat. Worldwide, only a few dozen tonnes of this quality are available each year.
The average length of the fibre, approximately 36 mm, also contributes to its quality. It promotes excellent durability over time and naturally limits the appearance of pilling. Its natural colour, known as "extra white", makes it possible to achieve shades of exceptional purity without resorting to bleaching agents that could alter the natural qualities of the cashmere.
Knitted in 4-ply, the EDGAR PREMIUM fully expresses this exceptional material in a denser and warmer construction. This thickness enhances comfort and protection against the cold while preserving the softness and suppleness characteristic of Premium cashmere.
The craftsmanship of this model meets the standards of the House, with precise knitting, hand finishing and individual quality control. Each step contributes to preserving the regularity of the knit and the natural qualities of such a precious fibre.
A naturally limited quantity
The rarity of this cashmere quality is naturally reflected in the volumes available. With only a few dozen tonnes of this fibre produced worldwide each year, the possibilities for crafting remain necessarily limited.
The EDGAR PREMIUM 4 FILS is therefore offered in deliberately limited quantities, subject to the availability of this exceptional fibre. Once the available materials are exhausted, the renewal of this model will depend on future availability of Premium cashmere.
The EDGAR PREMIUM 4 FILS thus offers a particularly exclusive cashmere experience, bringing together the warmth of a generous knit and the exceptional fineness of one of the rarest fibres in the world.
For reference, jumpers made in comparable cashmere qualities are generally offered at around €800 to €900 in the leading specialist houses.
